About Me

Harry James Flanigan

Introduction

Over the past seven years, I have taught hundreds of students with different strengths and needs, including SEN students, those with behavioral issues and those with English as an additional language.

I am passionate about working with children and take great personal pride in helping them achieve their potential. Lots of my students attain high marks in classical graded study, while others choose to pursue jazz or modern music, and instead focus on talent shows, open mics, and competitions to showcase their skills.

My approach is specifically student focused meaning no two students are ever taught the same. I pride myself in taking a flexible and adaptive approach to best tailor my teaching style to the individual.

I've taught groups, pairs and solo lessons with children as young as four. I've also worked extensively with teens, and adults. Regardless of age, I have seen first hand how music lessons can boost a student's confidence and self-esteem, improving their social abilities and even academic grades.

Recent Projects

I currently work in schools with Pelican Music and privately around West London, North London and Hertfordshire.
I'm an active pianist, and have various current projects, both ensemble and solo.
I recently recorded Mozart at Abby Road, and finished a solo exposition of the works of Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Debussy.
